Send SL, Liberty Online TV Partner Under Irish Embassy Project to Amplify Womenโ€™s Voices

In a move to amplify womenโ€™s voices and strengthen gender equality, Send Sierra Leone has signed a memorandum of understanding with Liberty Online TV through The More Than A Woman (MTAW) project supported by Irish Embassy.

Send SL is a non-governmental organization that has been working effectively to promote women rights, empowerment and equality. This partnership with Liberty Online TV, in view of the organization, will further enhance their mission to reach more people, especially women in the remote communities.

The signing ceremony was held at the Send SL office, Freetown, on Tuesday September 10th, 2025 in the presence of distinguished representatives of Send SL, Irish Embassy and Liberty Online TV.

The Advocacy Advisor for Send SL, Alhaji Musa Kamara highlighted the significance of the MOU, noting that Liberty Online TV, being an outstanding media outlet in the country, will further amplify the organizationโ€™s efforts to improve on womenโ€™s status in the country.

โ€œWe trust that working with Liberty Online TV, we will score a bigger goal, which is to improve on strengthening our women empowerment schemes, especially through the introduction of new local strategies SEND is developing.โ€

Commending Liberty Online TVโ€™s women-led leadership infrastructure, SEND SL country Director, Joseph Ayamga emphasizes on the organizationโ€™s strategic preference to work with the platform, stressing on SENDโ€™s commitment and dedication in championing the voice of women nationwide.

He further outlined the pressing issues facing women in the country, especially women in the provinces.

โ€œThe real issues are in the provincial areas. in most remote places, you will identify very inspiring stories about women that are often overlooked, as such we want to amplify these issuesโ€

Mr. Ayamga also noted the dire need to evaluate womenโ€™s representation in governance.

โ€œThere are so many women in parliament and people are complaining about what are they doing? Are they delivering? What are their contribution towards national development? We want to be able to stimulate the conversation through MTAWโ€

He also pledged the organizationโ€™s full commitment to ensuring the implementation of the partnership, extending appreciation to the Irish Embassy for its support in facilitating this project.

Representing the Irish Embassy, the Governance Director, Jesephus J. Ellie also noted that partnership is both timely and strategic, stressing on the trust the Embassy has placed on both institutions other their mutual values in promoting womenโ€™s empowerment.

Welcoming the partnership, one of the Managing Partners of Liberty Online TV, Kadijah Bangura asserted that the partnership aligns with the institutionโ€™s core values and principles, affirming that the the institution is very energized to implement the content of the project.
