WAEC Portal Opens for 2026 WASSCE Batch Registration — MBSSE Announces February 28 Deadline
The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has announced the official opening of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) portal for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) Batch Registration System (BRS).
According to a public notice issued from the Ministry’s headquarters at New England Ville in Freetown, the portal is now fully operational for the uploading and processing of candidate data nationwide.
The Ministry urged all school heads to immediately begin the registration process for cleared candidates to avoid last-minute complications.
According to the notice, the WAEC BRS portal will close on 28th February 2026.
The Ministry emphasized that no extension will be granted under any circumstances, warning that failure by schools to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe could result in candidates being excluded from the 2026 WASSCE.
The Ministry further stated that the official undertaking document presented to Parliament by the Minister on 10th February 2026 — and duly approved — must be signed by all school heads at MBSSE offices nationwide.
It noted that the undertaking holds school authorities accountable for the accuracy and integrity of all data submitted for WASSCE registration.
