The Wages and Compensation Commission has commenced a two-day engagement with public sector institutions on data collection for the determination and harmonization of the public sector wages.
The aim of this engagement is to present and explain the data collection template developed by the Commission, aimed at obtaining information on employees’ compensations and benefits from public institutions
It will also provide an opportunity for dialogue on key aspects of wages determination and harmonization, with a view to promoting equity, fairness, and transparency in the public sector pay system.
The commission’s chairman, Hon. Alhaji Osman Timbo, assured the public sector institutions that the commission will be proactive to improve on the salaries and compensation of public sector workers in Sierra Leone.
He further stressed the importance of data collection in all the public sector institutions for a better harmonisation of public sector wages across the board.
