The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has successfully concluded its three-week CAF D Diploma Coaching Course at the SLFA Headquarters* in Freetown, marking another significant milestone in the Association’s commitment to strengthening coaching education and grassroots football development across the country.
The course brought together 40 participants who completed 60 hours of intensive technical, theoretical, and practical training aimed at equipping aspiring coaches with the knowledge and skills required to develop players at the grassroots level.
Facilitated by SLFA Technical Director John Keister, the programme also included a one-week internship attachment with Sierra Leone Premier League clubs, providing participants with valuable hands-on coaching experience in professional football environments.
Throughout the course, participants were trained on modern coaching methodologies, player development, leadership, ethics, and professionalism, while gaining practical experience to complement their classroom learning.
This marks the second CAF D Diploma Coaching Course organised under the leadership of SLFA President Babadi Kamara, underscoring the Association’s continued investment in building coaching capacity nationwide.
The SLFA’s coaching education programme will continue next week with the Second Module of the Second Batch of the CAF C Diploma Coaching Course, while preparations are also underway for the CAF B Diploma Coaching Course, scheduled to commence in October. In addition, another CAF D Diploma Coaching Course will be organised in due course to provide more aspiring coaches with the opportunity to obtain CAF coaching qualifications.
The SLFA congratulates all participants on successfully completing the CAF D Diploma Coaching Course and commends their commitment, discipline, and dedication throughout the programme.
