The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has further expanded its international football cooperation following the signing of a two-year renewable partnership agreement with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
SLFA President Babadi Kamara presented the agreement to members of the Association’s Executive Committee on Thursday, August 20, during a meeting at the SLFA Secretariat in Freetown.
The agreement, which was signed in Rabat on August 17 by Kamara and FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa, is aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two football governing bodies through technical support, knowledge sharing and access to resources.
Under the partnership, the two federations will cooperate in areas including the development of technical and administrative personnel, referee training, youth football, football-related workshops and international friendly matches involving both men’s and women’s national teams.
The partnership also places emphasis on grassroots and infrastructure development, with plans to support the establishment of a technical training ground in a vulnerable community in Sierra Leone.
In addition, SLFA officials and personnel are expected to benefit from training and observation programmes in Morocco, while the agreement provides access to specialised sports injury hospital services.
The SLFA says the partnership forms part of its broader efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, develop football at grassroots level and deepen international cooperation for the advancement of the sport in Sierra Leone.
